Hearings and feelings from the Children's Fairytale Forest's first Housing Fair experience
The first Housing Fair Summer is now over – and what a show it was!
This year we had the honor of participating in the Housing Fair 2025 , and we were especially excited to design a children's room that brings imagination to life – in the form of a Fairytale Forest. 🍄🌲
The children's room is located in Villa Pesäpuu (@villa_pesapuu), and the interior design was created by listening to the owners' wishes. The interior design took into account their wishes in terms of both furniture and atmosphere - the aim was to create a warm, down-to-earth and playful space where the child's imagination can run wild. Kastelli was the project's partner, with whom the implementation of the whole went seamlessly from start to finish.
The enchantment of the forest and earthy tones
The theme chosen for the room is a forest inspired by a fairy tale world, where soft shapes, natural materials and calm tones create a safe and inspiring environment for the child. The colors follow an earthy palette – warm shades of brown, beige and forest green, which are refreshed by light-reflecting textiles and details just right.
Wooden furniture for softness and style
The centerpiece of the room is a lovely bed and chest of drawers from the Babushka series by Wood Luck Design . The playful lines and light tones of this timeless and high-quality wooden furniture fit perfectly into the natural atmosphere – while also offering practicality for the everyday life of a family with children.
Atmosphere for the night and games during the day
One of the absolute eye-catchers in the room is the gorgeous Little Lights night light in the shape of a bunny, which brings soft light to the space and a calming atmosphere in the evenings. The light also works as a great interior design element during the day – a little fairy-tale creature guarding dreams.
The playground was built with Moi Mili's handmade textiles. The play mat and cushions placed inside the tent invite you to peaceful moments of play, reading fairy tales or just relaxing. Every detail reflects the warm spirit of craftsmanship and thoughtful quality.
The final touch: Fly agaric rug & teddy trend
Small details complete the atmosphere – and Lorena Canals’ charming fly agaric rug does just that. It adds a touch of playfulness and color to the space without being too dominant. And best of all – the rug is machine washable, making it perfect for everyday life with a family with children.
The comfort is topped off with the Wigiwaman Bear teddy fabric bean bag , which offers a perfect place for your child to relax and rest. The soft feel and cozy look of teddy fabrics continue to be popular in children's room decor - and no wonder, because the combination of trend and unbeatable comfort always works.
The 2025 Housing Fair offered us a great opportunity to show how a children's room can be beautiful, playful and functional at the same time. We are grateful that we were able to realize this whole thing for the Villa Pesä family and also share it with the fair visitors. We hope that the room will inspire many to create their own little fairy forests at home. 🤎😊
